The Story Behind HER-Story

Candice is a champion for neuro-inclusion and neuro-diversity in our communities. She is a Limbic Brain 🧠 Linguist and Enthusiast. She is a dynamic TEDx speaker. A semi-finalist at TEDxTysons' Open Mic Night and a speaker for TEDxAshburn: “Everyone’s a Genius! Find Yours."

Candice recently authored an assistive technologies children’s book with the help of her eldest son’s illustrations. Their book’s illustrations are registered ® at the Library of Congress. Additionally, Candice presented her book to the US State Department- Foreign Press Association to a cohort of international families living with different abilities.

What you may not know about HER-Story is: that she grew up in a low-income, at-risk community where she attended 15 public schools. Candice was not diagnosed as an “atypical” “neurodivergent” learner until her late 40’s.

Today, she’s a proud first-generation master’s graduate from George Mason University’s Graduate School of Education in Special Education. Additionally, she was selected as the 2018 Student Speaker for the Degree Celebration at the Eagle Bank Arena.
